In The Red Becoming Black, Moglica describes two memorable moments of an Albanian couple. It describes the fascinated times of husband’s “loving red roses”, and unforgettable incidents of his wife in “the war of red roses”—one that occurred after his sudden death at thirty-eight years old. In a “ready-set-go” way of writing, Moglica tells an unusual story of “love” and “fight” in two different places, belief and disbelief of how she found herself in “the war of red roses”—every day when she went to visit his grave. The opening to The Red Becoming Black creates an uncommon masculine “love for red roses”, which extends to the climax in a paradoxical way, not what readers would usually expect. Whereas, the loveable events of her husband’s “love for red roses”, culminate with the tragic event of his sudden death beside them. Thereafter, the paradox and irony of the final unusual events of his wife’s “war of red roses”— makes this story unusual and memorable. Within this work the reader will find ten abstract images, which are original works by the author.
