From traditional and non-traditional performances to distinguished critical scholarship, over the past two centuries Canadians have uniquely remade Shakespeare. This series challenges us to rethink how the multiple histories and identities associated with Canada inform the interpretation and pedagogy of individual plays. A wholly new scholarly edition of the playtexts includes original, up-to-date annotations, critical introductions based on cutting-edge research, and provocative prefaces by well-known Canadians with deep experience of Shakespeare. Each play includes helpful act and scene summaries, character synopses, tips for reading the plays, and recommended reading/resources.
