A young boy named Jon discovers a dock spider at the lake and places her in his bug-collecting box. In exchange for her freedom, this clever spider provides Jon with information for his science fair project about spiders. Doxie introduces Jon to some of her garden spider relatives and shares with him how each of their webs led to the creation of a human invention.
