Catherine Chapman (Polley), an alienated teenager in a multi-ethnic high school with doubts about multiculturalism finds solace on an Internet chat room and hooks up with the shadowy National Identity Movement led by the charismatic Inga Kolneder (Redgrave). Chapman's good looks quickly take her to prominence as the movement's poster child. But before she knows it, she's in over her head in the politics of a white supremacist group that she doesn't understand.
