This unit is designed for secondary LEAP Science classes. It can be adapted for Grade 9 Applied and Academic Science courses for English Language Learners. Some activities in the unit are suggested as extensions for Grade 9 Applied and Academic classes only. Nevertheless, it is suggested that the teachers use their professional judgment in assessing the academic and language demands of the lessons in light of the students currently in their classes.
