The recovery of the Blue Iguana in the Cayman Islands and the discovery of new potential habitats for the pygmy three-toed sloth, two critically endangered species, are important victories for scientists. But the poaching of jaguars and sea turtles, and the arrival of invasive exotic species in certain habitats, threaten the fragile balance of Earth’s ecosystems.
