In this documentary, Donal MacIntyre starts at the North Pole and journeys south with winter as it brings death and destruction into our world. He undergoes an experiment testing the effects of extreme cold on the human body and sleeps over night in a snow hole constructed by a Danish military dog sled patrol in Greenland. He meets survivors of ice storms, avalanches, and extreme blizzards, and visits Mount Washington, home to the world's worst weather. He discovers why more people die of cold in London than any other city in Europe, before climbing cold's most incredible monument, a glacier. A BBC Production.
