Measuring-Metric focuses on the metric system. Viewers will learn about the metric units used to measure length, volume and mass, and will learn to make metric conversions. Interesting examples from real life will give viewers a sense of metric size - from very small to very large. Also included will be a discussion of where (geographically) and why the metric system is used in place of the standard system of measurement. Part of "Math in Our Lives," which is an innovative nine-part series using practical examples and realistic models to provide students with a sensible and accessible context for mathematical concepts.
