Big Dippers introduces lower case letters that dip below the bottom line. Gom reads a letter sent by Bartelby who is visiting a meteor crater in Arizona and is amazed at the wildlife. Then suddenly, a meteor shower catches his attention, and as he gazes skyward, he notices the Big Dipper constellation. This, of course, reminds him of cursive handwriting. This program continues with a short version of "Two Feet Flat On the Floor." The writing practice includes: reinforcement for measuring margins and spacing using the index finger, the letter "g," the letter "q," the letters "qu," and capital versions of "Q," "L," and "G." The sentence is introduced: "Quiet quail gobble." With the letters introduced this far, students may be able to make up their own words and sentences.
