Hadrian's Wall is one of England's most stunning and memorable monuments. It was built in ad 122 to separate the Romans from the barbarians. The world heritage site takes in some of the most rugged moorland and runs through some of the most beautiful parts of England. Now for the first time in thousands of years the eighty-four mile trail between Carlisle and Newcastle has been re-opened.
