In 2003 the Romanian government announced it intended to build a Disneyland-style Dracula park in Snagov, north of Bucharest. But from the start, there was powerful opposition. The park's initial location near the medieval town of Sighisoara, prompted heated reactions from Unesco and conservationists said the park would spoil the area's historic ambiance, so it was moved.
