Canada's bloodiest battle field was Fort Eerie. The battle fought here resulted in 3,000 casualties. With the bulk of their army fighting Napoleon, the British relied heavily on their native allies. Traders would establish themselves near the battlefields and trade and sell goods to natives and soldiers. In 1814, Fort Eerie was captured in the last American invasion of Canada.
