This program follows a Sikh truck driver, a Portuguese Canadian pop diva, and a Chinese Canadian scientist as they apply to, are accepted by, and are trained for the Hamilton Police Service. All come from communities that are suspicious of the police and the new recruits' families don't necessarily approve of their career choice. During the course of six months of filming we witness the transformation of the protagonists from civilians into police officers and explore how their relationships with their families and communities as a result of their career choice.
