ITV is working with the outstanding Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens to feature educational aspects of the many wonderful animals, flora and fauna at the zoo in these great science programs! Guests on the series include professionals who work daily with the cute penguins and large elephants, who take care of the many types of animals, and who have vast knowledge of maintaining thriving habitats. Jambo! That’s “hello” in Swahili, the language spoken in East Africa. Grab your hat and join Riverbanks Roundup for this NEW edition entitled African Safari. We’ll explore the zoo on an African Safari where students can meet African mammals and plants close up and learn about how they survive in the wild. Experts at the zoo will join host Katie Mixon as we take South Carolina students on this learning safari! Please make sure your elementary teachers and science specialists know about this program that can support standards in grades 2û5 and is also a great program for middle school and older students to enjoy and learn from. Students can e-mail their questions to RiverbanksRoundup@Riverbanks.org. This program explores animal survival tactics in the wild as well as how plants defend themselves from herbivores..
