Nina investigates what earwax is for with the help of Belle, her hearing neuron. Experimenters Evie, Joshua and Xanthe visit Nina in her lab and discover that wax can be sticky. Then they do an experiment with wax crayons and prove that wax is waterproof. Then they visit a mounted police stables and use beeswax to polish an old saddle, making the dry, cracked leather soft and supple again. Nina explains that earwax keeps the skin inside our ears soft and healthy. Back in the lab, they sprinkle glitter into a sticky cone and discover that our sticky earwax does a brilliant job of trapping dirt and dust, stopping it from getting inside our ears. Belle reminds us that we must never stick anything inside our ears as this is bad for them.
