Mr. Beanbody, Jeffrey and Lilly, travel back to the Reconstruction Period to learn how the South fared after the Civil War. They see rebuilding efforts and learn about President Lincoln's Ten Percent Plan. They see how the "Radical Republicans" take over the reconstruction effort and witness carpet baggers and learn why some southerners were called "scallawags." They visit Freedmen's Bureau schools and see sharecroppers as they work. They learn about the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments and how some southerners kept African-Americans from voting.
