Antonie van Leeuwenhoek (1632 û 1723) û Dutch naturalist, the inventor of the microscope, the founder of scientific microscopy, and a member of the Royal Society of London since 1680. For the first time in history, he discovered, researched and described the microscopic structure of various forms of living matter, blood cells, muscular fibres, and insect eye structure.
