Daniel Defoe (apprx. 1660 û 1731) û English writer, who gained fame mainly for being an author of Robinson Crusoe. He was also one of the active politicians of his times. The talented publicist, pamphleteer and publisher, he, not taking any state position, had a great influence on the king and the government.
