Hendrik Antoon Lorentz (1853 û 1928) û û an outstanding Dutch physicist, Nobel Prize Winner. He refined the electromagnetic theory and electron theory of matter, introduced the theory of electricity, magnetism, and light. Also, he developed the theory of transformations of moving bodies. The Lorentz transformations form the basis of special theory of relativity.
