Robert Koch (1843-1910) was a German physician. Robert Koch is considered as one of “fathers of bacteriology,” was a sample of absolute purposefulness, unusual patience and scrupulousness. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his tuberculosis findings in 1905. He is considered one of the founders of microbiology û he inspired such major figures as Paul Ehrlich and Gerhard Domagk.
