At the end of this activity, students should be able to define biogenic elements and present their basic role in the formation of organic compounds, explain the meanings of the terms 'macro-elements', 'trace elements' and 'ultra-trace elements' and present examples of the biological significance of these elements, and discuss the most important properties of water (from a biological point of view) and their significance in the world of living organisms.
