At the end of this activity, students should be able to describe the structure of alcohol molecule, name alcohols and draw their structural formulae, explain the phenomenon of isomerism in alcohols, explain the concept of primary, secondary and tertiary alcohols, describe the physical properties of ethanol and describe and explain the changes in the boiling points and solubility of alcohols with increasing molecular size.
