At the end of this activity, students should be able to present the types of nitrogenous waste compounds produced by the catabolism of nitrogenous compounds in different animals according to their environment, define filtration, reabsorption and secretion, describe the function of the renal tubule and the filtration in the glomerulus, describe the structures of the human excretory system and the structure of the nephron, and explain the mechanism of reabsorption in the proximal tubule of the nephron.
