At the end of this activity, students should be able to explain the operation and application of a transistor, describe the ways in which a transistor may be open or closed, use the concept of a voltage divider to explain how to control the opening and closing of a transistor, give examples of a transistor switch and provide a short description of its operation, and describe the amplifying property of a transistor and give examples of the application of this feature.
