At the end of this activity, students should be able to: recognize parts of a circle: center, radius, circumference, arc, chord, diameter, sector, segment, calculate the length of an arc, calculate the area of a sector, relate the area of a segment to the area of a sector and of a triangle, understand the notion of tangent and construct a tangent at a given point, understand the notion of a common tangent.
