At the end of this activity, students should be able to use logarithms in calculations, define pH of a solution, explain the relationship between pH and the concentrations of hydrogen and hydroxide ions, describe the pH scale, determine the pH of strong acids and bases and deduce the pH of the solution resulting from mixing an acid and a base.
