At the end of this activity, students should be able to describe how the pH of a solution changes upon gradual addition of the titrant, describe the characteristics of pH curves for strong acid-strong base, weak acid-strong base and weak base-strong acid titrations, explain how indicators work, choose the appropriate indicator for a given titration, discuss qualitatively pH curves with two equivalence points and indicate the limitations of acid-base titrations.
