This video looks at Toronto’s involvement in times of war, starting with Fort York. Citizens petitioned for a hospital worthy of Toronto’s veterans. Sunnybrook Hospital was built at the end of WW II, following an uproar at the appalling facilities that greeted the wounded on their return to Toronto.
