Myths and Legends of Ancient Greece, 2nd Edition, presents three stories — Daedalus and Icarus, Pandora's Box, and Jason and the Golden Fleece. The first story, Daedalus and Icarus, tells of a banished engineer who helps his nephew kill a ruler's stepson, a monstrous Minotaur. As punishment, the ruler imprisons the engineer (Daedalus) and his son (Icarus) in a maze. To escape Daedalus makes wings for himself and his son. But Icarus flies too close to the sun, which causes the wing feathers to drop away. In the second story, Pandora's Box, the viewers see an idyllic world where there are no adults. Pandora, discovers a box in her companion's home. Curious, she opens the box one day and out fly the troubles of the world. The final creature to fly from the box is hope, something that allows humans to live in happiness, despite all the troubles Pandora has released. The final story, Jason and the Golden Fleece, shows Jason as he goes on a quest to reclaim his rightful crown. His travels feature Zeus's wife, Hera, moving boulders that try to crush him, flying monsters, soldiers born from dragons' teeth and a fire-breathing dragon.
