Jackie Robinson is remembered as the man who broke the color barrier in Major League Baseball. He was the first African-American to play in the Big Leagues, but black baseball players were swinging at Jim Crow decades before Jackie dressed in Dodger Blue. Legendary players like Josh Gibson, "Cool Papa" Bell, Satchel Paige, and countless others laid the groundwork for integration while playing baseball in the historic Negro Leagues.
