When thirteen-year-old Tia and her little brother tag are abandoned by their mother, Child and Family Services send them to a foster home away from the city, in the heart of lake country. A freak, late spring snowstorm and a herd of runaway horses leads Tia to employment at a pony ranch. But accepting the love offered by her foster family proves not to be so easy.
