Meet Phillipe and Rose Nicol, a couple with dwarfism who built a palace for little people on Rue Rachel, in Montreal. In its heyday, it was a landmark that brought people from all over the country - but it wasn't a sideshow. The project was intended to de-stigmatize the marginalized, while also serving as a way to make a living for themselves outside of the exploitation forced on them elsewhere.
