“What is the Coronavirus?” is the latest in the series of the groundbreaking K-5 science education series Bailey’s Big Backyard. In this episode, Bailey has questions about the coronavirus. Maggie answers his questions and Bailey learns about where the disease began, what it looks like, how it travels and most importantly how he can keep himself safe. The information is simple, and factual and delivered with no hint of alarm or fear. The overall message is that adults are working diligently to stop the spread of the disease, and that by washing your hands with soap and water, staying away from people who are sick, and using a hand sanitizer are things everyone can do to protect themselves and others from contracting the disease.
