INVESTIGATION/HANDS-ON: Han Ru and Stefano search the park to find stuff that’s made to go fast through the air. Later they catch up with Marc Garneau, the first Canadian astronaut in outer space. Together with air cadet Carl, they experiment with balloon rockets to see what makes them aerodynamic. They also get the skinny on what it was like in space from Marc Garneau. CHALLENGE: Hamza meets identical twins with two identical bikes for this challenge. The twins race extremely non aerodynamic bikes in round one, then get a second chance with the same bikes, modified to be streamlined in round two. Will it make a difference? Find out what the twins say! BRAIN BENDER: Leanna and Sabrina have to turn puzzle pieces of an aerodynamic-looking arrow into a very boxy rectangle. EDUCATIONAL TAKE AWAY: When something moves fast and easily through air, we call it streamlined, or aerodynamic. Aerodynamics is the science of how air pushes against stuff or how objects move through air. Aerodynamic objects are curved and usually smaller in front than in the back.
