Berta (Bertha) Benz takes her family on a wild ride that not only rescues them from disaster-but ushers in the bold new era of motorized cars. The true story, told through engaging animation, shows how one woman in 1888 took a risk that would usher in the bold new era of automobiles. Early August 1888, Berta (Bertha) Benz drove her husband’s (Karl Benz of what would become Mercedes-Benz) invention, the “Motorwagen“ an automobile—from Mannheim to Pforzheim in Germany—becoming the first person ever to drive for extended distance, effectively launching the automobile industry. She challenged society; a machine, Mother Nature and then she changed the world.
