In this live-action program viewers will learn Mining is the process of extracting minerals and metals from the earth. Students will come to understand that Minerals are essential to modern technology and that metals and other elements are used in millions of manufactured products. They will discover that there are two types of mining: surface mining and underground mining. The program discusses that while mining is essential to our current way of life it does not come without its risks and negative impacts.
