This new production from award-winning Metis filmmaker Matt LeMay tells the story of Canada’s Great River – the Kitchissippi or Ottawa River – running over 1200 kilometres from Montreal to Lake Temiskaming. The waterway was a critical highway for the Algonquin and Metis. It carried these first explorers into the interior and served as the delivery route for fur and timber. It was also critical for European settlement and migration from one area of Canada to another.
