This educational documentary series looks at the culture of Ontario’s Francophone Métis. It ventures to discover and showcase a culture that for a long time has been overshadowed, misunderstood, and almost forgotten. Each episode will explore a particular theme of Métis culture and the series will serve as a platform to discover who the Métis are today and the cultural revival they are experiencing. During each episode, a narrated and animated Métis story will be presented alongside and alternated with real-life personalities to provide a dramatic narrative framework for the episode in order to capture and maintain the viewer’s interest in the outcome of the fictional story. This series is an excellent resource for social studies teachers as it allows them to reconnect with the historical imprint of the cultural richness of First Nations. The heritage of the Métis Francophones focuses on the contribution of the First Nations over the last few centuries.
