Amnesty International On Monday (September 16) presented its 2019 Ambassador Of Conscience Award to Swedish teen Greta Thunberg and the Fridays For Future Movement for their work to bring attention to the Climate Change Movement. The sixteen-year-old climate activist said she felt things were shifting, an "awakening." She added, "So what I'm telling you to do now, is to act," she told a cheering audience. Earlier this month, Thunberg arrived in New York City after sailing the Atlantic on a carbon emissions-free vessel with no bathroom and no shower. She attracted international attention last year when she started missing school on Fridays to protest against political inaction on climate change.
