The Emperor's New Clothes is one of the widest known and acclaimed tales, telling the story of an emperor who cared very much for his clothing, and very little for everything else. In the market for new clothes, the emperor hired two men who promised fabric so luxurious and special that only those fit for the position they hold can see it. To everyone else, the fabric is invisible. Once the clothing is finished, all of the emperor's ministers and spectators, and even the emperor himself, pretend to see the material for fear of others deeming them unfit. It is only one child, too naive to pretend, who exclaims the truth: the emperor is not wearing any clothing at all.
