Dream Psychology is a classic text on dream analysis and interpretation and has been described as the key to Freud’s theories about the role of the unconscious mind. The book explains how dreams have meaning and how they may be interpreted. Freud based his ideas on sessions with actual patients; he determined a close connection between a patient’s dreams and his/her psychological issues or neuroses. By interpreting dreams Freud felt he had a window into a patient’s fears, anxieties and the wishes and desires of the unconscious.
