Driving across northern Ontario, it's impossible to miss the huge monuments along the highway. Wawa Goose and Max the Moose, among others, are a wacky part of the communities where they're based. But they began as a tourism idea and a declaration that these resource towns had something more to offer. Jon Thomson, TVO's northwestern Ontario Hubs reporter, explains how they can now be read as signs that Ontario is "open for business."
