The two republics, previously conjoined as the Soviet satellite Czechoslovakia, continue their successful transitions to democracy - to the benefit of everyone. The stories behind the long struggle for freedom are interwoven with visits to Prague, Slovakia's Tatra Mountains, the Punkva Cave network and the Macocha Abyss outside Brno. Revived cultural touchstones and traditions are presented thorughout the program.
