Our planet is home to an abundance of life, fascinating in its variety. The biodiversity of our planet is defined as the number of species-ranging from the tiniest microorganisms to the largest mammals-their genetic variations, and the assortment of ecosystems they create. The Earth supports over 8.7 million species and each plays a vital role in the overall health of the planet. Unfortunately, our biodiveristy is rapidly shrinking.
