When twelve-year-old reluctant reader Alex Harmon's Aunt Caroline pays him to read the book she has written and point out the boring bits, he figures that it is an easy way to earn some money; the trouble is the whole book is about a grumpy frog and a prize-winning zucchini, and, well, boring -- so Alex suggests that she add more danger and suspense (and lose the zucchini), but in order to make the plot believable he recruits his friends to act out the different scenes, and soon discovers that being a stunt-double for a fictional character can land you in trouble.
