It's been two years since astronomers shared the first image of a black hole. Now, they've revealed a sharper, more detailed picture. The original photo looked like a glowing doughnut, but it actually revealed the super-dense core of a galaxy. This new image, which was published in The Astrophysical Journal in March 2021, is a lot more detailed. The team of international scientists that released it, called the Event Horizon Telescope Collaboration, includes a Canadian researcher based at the The Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo.
