When a 14-year-old Pakistani girl was shot in the head on a school bus by members of the Taliban, the world was horrified. The young girl had been an outspoken supporter for girls' education in her country. In the wake of the shooting, she went through months of rehabilitation, but emerged an even stronger advocate for her cause. In October 2014, Malala Yousafzai, 17, was awarded the Nobel Peace Price for her activism on behalf of girls and young women.
