Hurricane Fiona cut a swath of destruction when it barrelled into Atlantic Canada in September 2022. The storm's strong winds and surge destroyed homes and businesses, took out infrastructure and left people without power for weeks. Experts say that while Fiona is considered an extreme event, more storms of that intensity are likely in Canada because of climate change.
