There are several dozen parks located within the desert southwest area of the US in Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. They protect everything from historically significant rivers, urban memorial parks, battlefields, flint quarries, scenic lakes and mountains, wildlife, caverns, ancient cliff dwellings and cactus. This program features several dedicated National Park rangers, responsible for protecting our national parks and the history, natural resources, ecosystems, and wildlife within them. These rangers thrive on sharing their vast knowledge and park passion with visitors, to increase each visitors appreciation and understanding of the treasures in their parks. Parks featured in this program include: Palo Alto Battlefield National Historical Park; Chamizal National Memorial; Big Bend National Park; Big Thicket National Preserve; Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument; Guadalupe Mountains National Park; Carlsbad Caverns National Park; Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument; Organ Pipe National Monument; Saguaro National Park.
