Henry Kim, curator of Lost Dhow exhibit at Toronto's Aga Khan Museum, discusses fascinating artifacts found in an Arabian dhow sunk in the Indian Ocean off Belitung Island, Indonesia in the 9th century, but not found until the late 1990s by divers searching for sea cucumbers. The find provides insight into the vast trade and cross cultural exchange between China and the Persian Gulf during this period. Many individually decorated ceramic bowls were on board as well as possessions of the crew like a rolling pin and grinding stones.
